Concerts
On 26 February, 1979, a concert was given by the Bee Gees, who were at the peak of their popularity at that time, with another concert by the same group on 26 June, 1991. Until the last concert offered by Manolo Garcia on 17 June, 2001 the Palacio de Deportes was visited by the most outstanding figures of the international and national scene such as Luciano Pavarotti (1 September, 1990), Sting (13 December, 1985), Supertramp (28 January, 1986), Elton John (1 March, 1986), Paul McCartney (5 November, 1989), Phil Collins (23 May, 1990), Gloria Estefan (10 June, 1991) or Eric Clapton (22 February, 2001) among others. Performances were also given by Rocío Jurado on 23 June, 1989, "La Unión" on 10 May, 1991 or Enrique Iglesias on 20 September, 2000.
Benefit
Concerts
On 24 May, 1979, a Unicef concert was held with the presence of the Brazilian footballer, Pelé, another gala being held on 9 July, 1982.
In addition, it is necessary to highlight the benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Mitch held on 11 December, 1998, with the performances of Malú, Ketama, Ella Baila Sola, Jarabe de Palo and Alejandro Sanz or the concert "Solidarios en el Estrecho", celebrated on 16 December, 2000 with the interventions of artists such as La Unión, Ana Torroja, Miguel Bosé or Revólver.
On 16 December, 1999 the concert "Principales solidarios" was celebrated and in recent years the so-called "Solidarity Festivals" were organised.
Festivals
On the occasion of the San Isidro festivities from 8-16 May, 1982, there were performances by Enrique and Ana, Paco Ibáñez, Miguel Ríos, Luis Pastor, Victor and Ana and Miguel Bosé.
On 23 October, 1984, the Palacio de Deportes was the venue for the Autumn festivities of the Community of Madrid.
