On 17 April, 1960, two months after the opening of the Palacio de Deportes, the first ice show was held, these becoming a frequent attraction in the building from that moment onwards. In the show "Holiday On Ice", Tchaikovsky’s "Swan Lake" (6 May, 1961) or Rimsky Korsakov’s "Sheherazade" (23 June, 1966) was performed.
On 9 December, 1987, Disney On Ice, an ice show for children was shown. From 6-10 March, 1996, the musical Aladdin was performed within the Walt Disney on Ice show, which was dedicated in 1998 to Snow White, in 1999 to Pocahontas, in 2000 to "The classics" and in 2001 was named "Adventures in the Jungle".
On 28 April, 1961, the I World Jazz Festival was celebrated.
From 1970 and during several consecutive years, the World Circus Festival was installed in the Palacio de Deportes for the Christmas season.
